This year for M's b-day I took her into the city to see Mary Poppins on Broadway. We spent the morning walking around my old neighborhood in the West Village. We went to my all time favorite brunch place which surprisingly is still there and then walked by my old apartment which "still" has my name on -- that always makes me laugh. Then it was onto some shopping around the MPD and up to see the show. I see a new birthday tradition forming.

I can't think of a better way to spend a sunny cold winter afternoon then to spend it with six-day old Rhys. He was the perfect little gentleman -- slept a little, then stayed awake a little so we could see those baby blue eyes of his. While his three siblings were away at school we were able to spend some quality time on just him, soaking up all that baby cuteness!

winter weekend birthday number one | personal

We are "blessed" with having not one, but two January birthdays seven days apart. How I would love to have a summer birthday were the party can be outside and the kids can run free. This however will never happen so we have to make the best of the winter fun. The children don't mind though .. they are happy wherever balloons and cupcakes are!

pop of color | old greenwich, ct family photographer

Ever since I was a little girl, pink has always been a favorite color -- even when I went through my "black stage". Don't all girls go through a black phase in their adolescence? Anyways, when I walked in the door of this new family's home in Connecticut I was pleasantly surprised to see an amazing POC .. "pop of color". Right away, I believe, I mentioned how her sweater would pop in the photos -- and pop it does indeed! That late fall afternoon seems so distant as all of us on the east coast are shivering and freezing today. Time to make some hot cocoa and dream about spring ...

I am in the process of working on my Winter 2012 Newsletter. If anyone is not on my mailing list and would like to be, please email me and I will make sure to add you to the list! Lots of exciting news and announcements to come...

city scooting | new york city family photographer

This family is not only a client but good friends. It is always so nice when the kids feel comfortable with you as a photographer from the get-go so you can get some fun family photos right from the beginning. We were lucky enough to meet early one morning when the streets were empty and the kids were able to scoot around without running into anyone.

family with so much love - part two | chatham, nj family photographer

One of my favorite Chatham families has moved back to their home country of Argentina. It was so sad to see them leave but I am sure their families are thrilled to get them back. A few weeks before Christmas and in the midst of all of their packing and holiday madness, we quickly went out for a couple of hours to capture them in some of their favorite local haunts. Eugenia, I will definitely miss seeing your smile every day but hopefully one day I will come back to visit Buenos Aires and we can hit up Prune and Sucre!

happy 2012 | personal

I realize I am three days late on wishing you all a very happy new year but I guess better late then never. This past week we headed on a jet plane and went up to a ski resort in Ontario. The kids got on skis for the first time and loved it! I brought my big camera with me but due to the bulkiness and snow I barely took it out except for on the "propeller" plane -- yikes! My trusty iphone 4S stood in its place and I conveniently snapped some photos and instagrams on it. The highlight was spending so much time in the toasty warm outdoor pools and spas. There is nothing like it!

Here is to a wonderful 2012.
