catch the leaves | chatham, nj child photographer

It has been a busy few weeks with "lots and lots" of photo shoots. All of them different and all of them super fun. I am sorry I have been a bad blogger -- I have been extremely busy shooting, editing, designing albums, ordering canvases and lots of other goodies for all of my clients. This is the craziest time of year but almost the most exciting. I see a light at the end of the tunnel in a few weeks when I can sit back, read my stack of holiday magazines, bake with my kids, spend some time with the hubs and do all those projects that I have been putting off. Until then I will leave you with some real cuties. We spent a chilly fall morning a couple of weeks back playing in their backyard and trying to catch all of the leaves falling from the trees.

a swedish morning | personal

When I saw a fellow friend document her trip to Ikea I thought what a great idea especially since it is full of vibrant colors, patterns and textures (a photographer's dream). It wasn't until we were in the car heading to Ikea that I remembered I too should grab my camera and take a few snaps. A few hours later we walked out with what we went there for, along with some cute photo memories.

a sparkling "sip and see" | chatham, nj baby photographer

I had never heard of a sip and see until a few years ago. Am I outing my Bravo addiction if I dare say it was on Real Housewives of Atlanta?!? Anyways ... it is a lovely idea to get your best girlfriends and family together to formally introduce your newborn to your closest friends. A few of Sharon's friends hosted one for her new addition. It was a fantastic afternoon to ooh and aah over her new precious baby girl. Congratulations to all!

the calm before the storm | madison, nj baby photographer

You would never know that just a few hours after a morning spent with this peaceful beautiful little boy, our lives would be torn upside down and disrupted for an entire week by a crazy October Nor-Eastern. I came home right after this shoot to our 100 year old oak trees in our front yard falling down like toothpicks. Live wires were pulled from our home and limbs were torn from the trees over our entire yard. 6 nights later after camping in hotels we came home to put our lives back together. Halloween in our town was cancelled and the kids had an entire week off of school. What a week but at least we are all safe and there were no major injuries. Mother nature sure did a number on us!

On a happier note, little Benjamin was a complete angel. He saw his first snow-fall while I was photographing him and we share the same birthday which is always a fun fact to find out. Thanks so much Cindy and Damian for the great morning!

fall is in full swing

Things have been crazy-busy around here. Fall is in full swing at Jennifer Lavelle Photography. I only have a couple more weekend spots left for the season and then I am completely booked. Without further adieu I will leave you with a few images of whats going on around here. Lots of pumpkin patch pickin' and somebody I know received his white belt in Tae Kwan Do. He is completely captivated with his first-ever trophy.

little red fire truck | chatham, nj family photographer

I am not a hugh "props" person but this summer we were driving through this small Vermont town and I spied a vintage 1950's fire truck at a curb-side tag sale. I quickly told my husband to stop and turn around because it was too cute for words. After doing a bit of negotiating with the owner, we squeezed it into our car and drove off. Never have I been so happy to own a cute little red fire truck. A few of little boys (and girl!) who saw it at my mini sessions the other week were so excited to sit in and try it out. If ever I am photography your toddlers and you would like me to bring it along, please let me know and I would be more then happy to put it in my trunk for a shot or two!

As you can see Willem (who is growing like a weed from the last time I shot him) sure enjoyed it!
