Happy St. Patrick's Day! The leprachauns made an appearance at our house this morning and left gold chocolate coins to those who left their shoes at the end of their beds. Then mom whipped up a some green scrambled eggs, green grapes and nutella on toast. A good Irish morning so far...

It was fitting that we were in DC during President's Day. Lots of monument and museum hopping, along with a necessary trip to Georgetown Cupcakes.

The minute I walked into the store I spotted these lovelies up on the shelf and I knew I had to have them. The linen covers, the vibrant colors, the textures of the binding, the illustrations ... they all spoke to me. There are a quite a few more in the Penguin series but I think this is a good start. I can hardly wait to sit down with a cup of tea and read them to the kids.

swim lessons can't come soon enough
I have to remind myself not to tell him about his swim lessons until we are about to leave because all day he is waiting and ready to go. This is how I found him .... THREE HOURS BEFORE!
