la

One of my sisters and I met in LA for a much needed long-weekend-mini-break. It was so nice to getaway and recharge the batteries. We couldn't have asked for better weather, an awesome hotel and meals that did not involve chicken fingers or fries. Pure heaven!

A few weeks ago we headed down to DisneyWorld. Of course the kids had an amazing time. Below is a photo of my old "retro" Disneyland hat that for some reason I have held onto for ages. Molly got a kick out of wearing something that her mom used to wear when she was the same age.

hopscotch

I have a lot of images to blog since returning from our family trip to DisneyWorld and then my awesome-much-needed-solo trip to LA to meet up with my sister this weekend. While I get back into the swing of things I will leave you with some fun outside hopscotch images of the kids that I took before our trip down south. We know spring is around the corner when the tiny purple flowers (a.k.a. weeds) pop up on our neighbor's lawn.

cocoa crayon

I am always asked where I get some of the cool and unique products that I have for myself and for my kids so I thought I would divulge my source. Cocoa Crayon is an awesome website that my good friend Lisa Moss owns and runs. She used to live on the Upper East Side of Manhattan but recently relocated to California with her family. If you are ever in the market for fun, unique and charming products check out her site and give her a call. Her customer service and gift wrapping is amazing!http://www.cocoacrayon.com

the zoo

The sun was out, we had nothing planned so we jumped into the car and headed to the zoo. We were practically the only ones there besides the animals. The monkeys and white wolves were waiting for us, as was the carousel ride.

olympic fever

All of my friends and family back home in Vancouver are busy with all of the Olympic games and festivities while we sit back here on the east coast watching it on the television. The other day while out at the kid's skating lessons I looked up and saw the Canadian flag hanging above them. Go Canada go!
